King County Jail

Good Behavior

Interview with Jenna, Cris and Mel

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Jenna: No. King count automatically takes 1/3 off your sentence as a standard procedure. I think you only get good time in prison!
Cris: na
Mel: Yes. I was sentenced to 100 days. I served 67 days and was released. I think by default you get 1/3 off your sentence. If you get a new charge (i.e, contraband, assault, breaking N.C.O) your "good time" goes away.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Jenna: I'm not sure, I have never been in jail or prison long enough to receive this offer.
Cris: na
Mel: As far as I know, 1/3.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off?
Jenna: Well I would think staying out of trouble, no fighting, killing or offensive behavior. The best thing to do is get into clubs, meetings, duties, working in the kitchen anything to keep you busy.
Mel: fighting, smoking anything, drugs, flipping the staff attitude.
